VLN Deportation Preparedness Phone Services
VLN provides advice to help clients understand what they can do to take care of the family members, personal property, and financial obligations they may leave behind if they get detained or deported. In some cases, attorneys will assist clients in preparing necessary paperwork, as well. Deportation Preparedness Phone Services will assist with issues including the following:
- Powers-of-attorney (POAs)
- Delegations of Parental Authority (DOPAs)
- Advice about obtaining U.S. passports for minor children
- Selling a car/giving away a car
- Tenant rights when ending a lease or after eviction
- Tenant rights to abandoned personal property left behind in a rental unit
- Joint ownership of personal property such as checking accounts, etc.
This service does not assist with immigration matters, or in cases where the client is already detained or deported.
