The Advocates for Human Rights

The Advocates for Human Rights provides free legal advice, brief services, and full representation to low-income people in some Immigration Cases. To see what kinds of cases we usually help with, please click on the Legal Topics tab. We work with people in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Western Wisconsin.

Please note: although our phone intake line is closed 12/25/25 and 1/1/26, online intake will be open during those holidays.

Application Process

Our physical offices are currently closed to the public. To apply for services, call 612-341-9845 or apply on our site during our intake hours. Intake hours are Tuesdays from 10 am - 12 pm and Thursdays from 12 - 2 pm. New clients must call or complete online intake during intake hours. On our site, the button for our intake form will not appear outside of intake hours. We cannot help new clients with walk-in intake.
